Choose your stream: Ageing or Disability

Insight Training offer two specialised streams within the Certificate III in Individual Support. Choose the one that aligns with your passion and career goals. If you're unsure, our Course and Career Advisor can help you understand the differences on a call.

Ageing Stream:

Focus: Primarily on providing care to elderly people, often those living in residential care or receiving home-based support.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with daily living tasks like personal care, mobility, and meal preparation.
  • Providing emotional support and companionship.
  • Supporting people with dementia, palliative care, and end-of-life care.

Workplaces: Primarily in aged care facilities, retirement homes, or in-home care settings.

Key Skills: Supporting elderly people in maintaining their independence and quality of life through tailored care plans.

Disability Stream:

Focus: Providing care and support to people with physical, intellectual, or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with daily activities, social participation, and developing independence.
  • Providing care in both community-based and residential environments.
  • Supporting individuals with specific disabilities (e.g., autism, cerebral palsy).

Workplaces: Disability services, group homes, day programs, and in-home support.

Key Skills: Promoting independence, skill development, and community participation for people with disabilities.
