Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements is a $1.2 billion subsidy scheme, announced by the Federal Government as a part of the COVID-19 economic recovery plan. This subsidy is in addition to the supporting apprentices and trainees wage subsidy which is helping small and medium businesses to keep their trainee and apprentices in work and training.
The Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements scheme is available to all businesses irrespective of location, size or industry. This means businesses from healthcare, aged care, child care, retail, community services, supply chain or any other business category will be able to claim the wage subsidy.
How much is the Subsidy?
Receive a wage subsidy of up to 50 per cent of the gross wage paid to each staff member that is eligible.
The wage subsidy is available for a maximum of $7,000 per quarter per eligible staff member, for a period of 12 months (Total maximum of
$28,000 per staff member).
